In this new series, ISBN members get to know their leaders and peers. ISBN recently caught up with Lisa Green, JCPenney VP/DMM of Beauty & Salon, and Stacey Soble, Brand Content Director of Salon Today.
Lisa and Stacey each joined the ISBN Board of Trustees prior to ISBN’s annual Fall 2024 meeting. Both look forward to connecting with ISBN members and industry leaders at ISBN Conference 2025 in Austin, TX, April 14-16.
In addition to the many opportunities to network and exchange perspectives at Conference, Lisa will be co-leading a breakout workshop with fellow board member Emily Brown of V’s Barbershop, an authentic discussion around textured hair and The Crown Act.
You’ll find Stacey covering all of Conference. She’ll be contributing, reporting on and translating insights through ISBN’s unique, multi-unit, executive-level lens. Learn more about Lisa, Stacey and their roles here:
Board of Trustees Member Lisa Green
JCPenney VP/DMM, Beauty & Salon

Executive-level experience: “I am responsible for overseeing all aspects of JCPenney’s Salon & Beauty merchandising strategies, education, and events to create a compelling shopping destination for our customers within the newly launched JCPenney Beauty and our full-service salons.”
“I have more than 35 years of experience in the beauty and salon industry. As a senior beauty industry executive my strengths are in brand strategy, omnichannel sales, marketing, and merchandising.”
“Prior to JCPenney, I held leadership roles with Estee Lauder Companies, BeautyKind, Beauty Brands, Coty, LVMH, Unilever, among others.”
About the business: JCPenney currently has 609 Salons and 596 Beauty locations. Services include haircuts, styling, color and highlights, hair treatments, natural/textured styling, smoothing services, perms, grooming, hair removal, and facial services.
First became involved in ISBN: “Two years ago, when I joined the JCPenney team.”
Who else from JCPenney attends ISBN Conference? Sr. Director of Education, Sr. Manager/Trainer of Salon, VP of Government Affairs, and Sr. Haircare Buyer.
Tell us more about your Breakout: “I will be co-hosting the Conference session with Emily Brown, the COO of V’s Barbershop. We will have an honest and authentic discussion around textured hair and how we’re working toward getting our teams comfortable with all hair textures so we can confidently serve every guest.”
“Statistics show that 70% of the population say they have textured hair —wavy, curly, or coily. Many states are now mandating curly/texture education in cosmetology curriculum. We’re going to discuss what that looks like for JCPenney, for V’s, and what it could mean for other ISBN members.”
“JCPenney is the only retailer that currently supports The Crown Act. Through this stance, we have gained loyalty across the nation and a growth in stylist hiring, longevity, and salon retail.”
What are you most looking forward to at ISBN Conference 2025? “I love networking with like-minded professionals.”
