Letter to Congress for 45B

As the nation begins to open at intervals and larger organizations in the professional beauty industry begin to identify how to recover, one thing the ISBN government relations committee has been working hard at is pushing for greater liquidity for large employers in the industry. Those that have been carved out of relief packages and have paid into systems unfairly through unbalanced tax programs on tips. The struggle has been long and great for obtaining the tip tax credit to gain parity with the restaurant industry, but this call for the credit also includes a retroactive credit to help ISBN members recover cash in the face of a major blow during COVID-19.

The letter available on this page was sent to lawmakers on April 21, 2020 and shared with the membership that same week. Please download, read and forward on to your legislators to create some momentum around this important long term taxation reform.
