ISBN board members have a reputation for leadership, success and giving back to the professional beauty industry they care about so passionately. The newest member to join this special community is Nick Stenson, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President, Salon Services and Trend of Ulta Beauty.
In his new role at Ulta Beauty, Stenson continues to steer the company’s growing salon and services business, elevating the beauty services experience for guests in more than 1,200 stores. As a new board member for ISBN, Stenson is stepping up after what he describes as a very positive eight years of experience with the ISBN association and conference.
“I attend a lot of industry events, and ISBN’s annual Conference quickly became a favorite,” Stenson says. “ISBN takes a very different approach, one that has been very valuable to me and our company. When you manage multiple salons and are charged with creating consistency and growth throughout the organization while delivering a powerful, purposeful experience to the consumer, it’s important to have forum to share best practices. At ISBN, we talk practically about opportunities we have in the industry as well as the threats we face, and how we overcome those together. It’s important for all of us to use our voices to support and continue the grow the beauty industry, and I’m proud to lend mine.”
Stenson joined Ulta Beauty in 2016 as chief artistic director, most recently serving in the role of Vice President for two years and now Senior Vice President of Salon Services and Trend. In addition to oversight of all the salon and service business within the stores, he now has responsibility for Ulta Beauty’s strong boutique business, as well as events.
“Merging all of the services business under one umbrella to include hair, skin, Benefit brow, MAC, Lancôme and Clinique will ensure wow experiences for our guests and incredible career opportunities for beauty professionals,” Stenson explains. “In addition, our events team creates and executes thousands of events in partnership with our brands and stores team throughout the year in every store, truly bringing beauty to life.”
Stenson has brought his expertise and talent to both the artistry and salon business side of Ulta Beauty, strengthening the services culture through his collaborative leadership and dedication to developing his team. Under his leadership, Ulta Beauty’s Pro Team has received countless industry awards including NAHA 2019 Team of the Year. Ulta Beauty’s hair and beauty services menu has continued to transform, now featuring specialty blowouts and more.
ISBN members and Conference attendees can look forward to meeting and spending time with Stenson and multiple members of the Ulta Beauty leadership team at ISBN’s annual Conference May 3-5 at Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.
